Passenger Liners are possibly the most common single class of ship in the Twelve Colonies. Numerous different companies all rely on the same basic model. Companies providing these low cost transport flights include: Pan Galactic (the largest commercial spaceline), Sagittarian Spaceways (the dominant line in the Helios Gamma system), and Gemon (the second largest, and prime competition for Pan Galactic across all markets other than Gamma).
These liners are primarily used only for very short trips either at sub-light for short distances or for FTL jumps. They are not intended for long voyages and consist mostly of rows of passenger seats with very basic bathroom and food services and a minimal flight crew. This problem has become quite apparent in the current situation of prolonged exile where passengers have been forced to live in such cramped confines for such long period of time. Furthermore, the liners don't have large storage facilities and require constant resupply while also lacking any hanger facilities to easily allow passenger or supply transport between vessels. Efforts have been made to redistribute the populations of these ships, but even at half capacity the liners are still considered the worst ships in the Fleet to live on.
