The Libran Transit (AKA "Medium Transport") is the standard short range vessel of the Colonies. It is used widely by both civilian and military for transportation to and from ships (unlike liners or movers that perform planet-to-planet transport). It is the favored inter-fleet personnel and cargo transport vessel in service and has held that title since before the First Cylon War.
The Libran Transit is a small and rather agile craft that can serve a vital purpose for the Fleet. Unfortunately, most of these transports are not FTL capable. They were primarily intended for short surface-to-orbit or close ship-to-ship transport and thus were never intended for long range travel. The few FTL transits that did exist are highly sought after.
