The Imperial Strider is a registered ship of Virgon that made regular supply runs to outlying operations before the war. Now, as part of the Fleet it serves a much different purpose. Since joining with Hyperion at Phoebe, the Strider always served in supply, cargo, and surplus civilian housing capacities. Since then, however, it has been modified and re-purposed to be a sort of flagship for the civilian fleet militia. The vessel has been equipped with sixty kinetic point defense turrets making it the most armed ship in the Fleet aside from the military vessels. The hangers have each been improved and modified so that in times of crisis they can each house, operate, maintain, and launch a full squadron of twenty Vipers (i.e. two squadrons total for the entire ship). In addition, the bridge of the Imperial Strider has been upgraded into a fully equipped CIC to both coordinate its own new capabilities but also to coordinate and lead other civilian vessels.
